Then, research what recipes will fit (at least partially) with what you gotta use up.

The more forgotten food you eat from your stockpile during this challenge, the better.

A bonus is that these meals usually use pantry staples that it’s possible for you to easily substitute.

This step will help you buy less (or no) groceries for longer.

Repurpose Ingredients Past Their Prime

Just because something is old doesnt mean it’s spoiled yet.

Transform slightly stale bread (without mold) into croutons, stuffing, or French toast.

Use browning bananas for banana bread, smoothies, or pancakes.

Turn older, slightly stale cereals into granola bars or trail mix.

Blend fresh but slightly wilted greens intopestoor boil them into vegetable stock.

(You get the idea.)

Use what you have for straightforward dishes that dont skip out on needed nutrients.

When planning meals, start witha complete proteinand build around that with a quick starch and produce.
