With a few precautions, you might harness the extra cleaning power of bleach without causingdamage to your garments.

Here’s how to use bleach in your laundry routine.

Laundry bleach has a lower concentration of sodium hypochlorite than cleaning bleach, making it gentler for fabrics.

Be sure not to use cleaning bleach in the laundry machine.

In general, you want to use the minimum amount of bleach necessary to get your clothes clean andstain-free.

If you have heavily soiled items or a large load, you will need more bleach.

For chlorine bleach, stay away from colored fabrics and delicate items.

If you have a separate bleach dispenser, its best to add bleach to its own dispenser.

Just see to it your bleach is added with water so it is diluted.

With top and front load washers, youll have a dispenser where you could load the bleach.

For dark and bright colors, cold water is less likely to cause fading.
