Burr vs. Blade
There are two types of coffee grinders:bladeandburr.
Blade grindersare similar to the blades in a blender.
They break up the coffee beans to turn them into grounds.
That combined with heat from the spinning blades makes for one bitter-tasting coffee.
They are typically cheaper though.
Burr grinders, either flat or conical, crush the beans to a uniform size.
Just keep in mind that they tend to be more expensive.

Coffee makers with built-in grinders are either drip coffee or espresso machines.

Drip coffee makers with grinders are the least expensive and least complicated of the two.
Espresso machinesare much faster, with the ability to produce a shot in less than one minute.
Its a premium coffee experience.
The built-in burr grinder has to create a fine grind tooa blade grinder simply wont do.
