To find the best ones, we tested 26 of them at home for six months.

Temperature-regulating fabrics like linen, Tencel, bamboo, and loosely woven cotton will help you sleep comfortably.

These materials are breathable, moisture-wicking, and lightweight so you dont wake up in a sweat.

The color selection is limited to creams and blues.

Upon opening the blanket, we immediately wanted to wrap ourselves in its buttery material.

The polyester fabric is double brushed, which makes it extra cozy while preventing pilling and shedding.

Several months later, we have no quality complaints.

Still, if you’re looking for an outrageously soft and high-quality blanket, this is a great pick.

Cold sleepers might find that its not warm enough for winter.

This budget-friendly blanket impressed us at every stage of the testing process.

It also held up well after going through our washer and dryer, with no loose threads or snags.

We would even go so far as to say it’s the coziest blanket in our arsenal.

Weve never overheated, and nothing beats the quality: Its exceptionally soft, silky, and stretchy.

Cleaning is also easy.

Its held up just beautifully without fading or losing its softness over testing.

The blanket is quite thin and plain-looking, so it might not work well as your only bed cover.

It’s lined with polyester, so it’s not a great option if you prefer natural fibers.

We love that it’s large enough to share or to hog yourself.

While this blanket is quite hefty and warm, we felt cozy and not stifled while lying under it.

The double-sided design proved ideal for all-season use, though it may be a bit heavy for hot sleepers.

It remained in mint condition after six months of use, regular washing, and exposure to stains.

Snags are very noticeable given how thin the material is.

This blanket is lightweight and airy, not silky, though it still feels substantial.

It is more prone to snagging since its a thinner material, but thats par for the course.

This blanket stood out for its beautiful craftsmanship and impressive comfort.

The stitching was flawless and the corners were nicely finished.

Plus, Quince uses only the finest Oeko-Tex- and GOTS-certified organic cotton.

Even after enduring over a year of washing and drying, the blanket still looks and feels great.

Its too heavy and warm for summer use, and its dry clean only.

When we discovered that this wool blanket basically feels like a hug, we used it every evening.

For us, its the perfect throw.

This is better quality than any other throw weve used before.

Like all wool blankets though, it isnt your soft, fluffy fleeceits got a bit of texture.

However, its not scratchy or itchy, just not soft.

Its beautiful and looks amazing over a chair or sofa.

Its not ideal for use in warmer seasons though.

Its much too heavy, and we found it a little too hot as an overnight blanket.

But its absolutely perfect as a winter throw.

We found no snags, pilling, or signs of wear, even after daily use and kid chaos.

If you want a gorgeous, ultra-warm throw that doubles as living room decor, this is the one.

Just verify your guests dont accidentally take it home.

Because of its waffle-knit texture, this blanket isnt as soft as other options.

Made from GOTS-certified organic long-staple Indian cotton, the blanket has a soft touch and extra-durable finish.

It has held up well throughout six months of use, with no noticeable signs of wear and tear.

While this blanket is easy on the eyes, its not the most comfortable blanket we tested.

The fabric has a fairly soft feel, but the waffle-knit weave felt scratchy when we pressed against it.

Original Stretch Blanket

This huge blanket has great craftsmanship, and the fabric is incredibly soft.

Its very heavy, and its size may be overwhelming to fold and store.

If you want an oversized blanket to cocoon in, opt for this pick from Big Blanket Co. We found it particularly great for guests to use on our pull-out couch.

One aspect of this blanket that stood out was its quality.

Given the size and quality of this blanket, we think it’s well worth the price.

Our Testing Process

To find the best blankets, we tested 26 blankets in our lab.

We also noted the thickness and feel of the fabric and recorded the length and width of each blanket.

We also looked for the coffee stain and recorded if it was still visible.

They are lightweight, breathable, and exquisitely soft depending on the key in of cotton used.

They’re also low maintenanceyou can typically toss them in the wash along with your regular laundry.

Polyester blankets are also budget-friendly, warm, and typically easy to clean.

They trap heat, making them quite toastyand potentially uncomfortable for hot sleepers.

Most faux-fur and shearling blankets use a polyester blend that makes them super soft and machine washable.
