Place sesame seeds in a nonstick skillet over medium-low.
Cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned and fragrant, 5 to 7 minutes.
Transfer the seeds to a plate or bowl.
Bake the eggplant.
Preheat oven to 450F.
Bake until tender, flipping halfway through, about 18 minutes.
Let cool on baking sheet 10 minutes.
Combine the glaze.
Add the glaze to the eggplant and broil.
Increase oven temperature to broil.
Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and scallions.
