This bourbon-based cocktail is a sweet companion to warm summer days.
Garnish the cocktail with basil sprigs and lime wedges.
Remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes.

Pour through a fine-mesh strainer into a measuring cup; discard basil.
(Simple syrup can be refrigerated for up to 5 days.)
Process peach slices and 1 cup water in a food processor until peaches are very finely chopped.
Stir bourbon, lime juice, and simple syrup into peach mixture.
(Prepared drink can be refrigerated, covered, for up to 1 day.)
Serve over ice, garnished with basil and lime wedges.
