This easy-drinking spritz uses elderflower liqueur, the prettiest bottle in your liquor cabinet.

It’s a crowd-favorite sipper thats refreshing, crisp, and not too heavy on the booze.

As with all spritzes, serve it over plenty of ice and be prepared to refill frequently.

What Is St-Germain?

St-Germain is a French liqueur made from elderflowers.

It launched in 2007 and has a floral, honeyed flavor.

St-Germain is frequently used in cocktails and can also be enjoyed cold over ice as an aperitif.

St-Germain has an ABV of 20%, higher than wine, but lower than Campari.

What bang out of Sparkling Wine Should I Use in a Spritz?

Since spritzes originated in Italy, prosecco is the traditional sparkling wine to use.

Be sure the sparkling wine is dry, not too sweet, otherwise the spritz could taste quite sugary.

This is especially true for a Hugo spritz, since the St-Germain elderflower liqueur is already sweet.

Garnish with a lime slice and mint sprig.

It’s very flexible!

It can be enjoyed on its own or with appetizers or light snacks.
