Considerations Before You Begin
Unstructured woven and knitted wool garments can be washed at home.
Structured jackets and coats should be taken to a professional dry cleaner.
Work a small amount of the wool wash or Castile soap into the stained area with your fingers.
Set the garment aside and let the soap begin breaking the bond between the soil and the wool fibers.
This will help prevent dye transfer and ensure each garment is thoroughly cleaned.
Let it soak for up to 30 minutes.
Give the fabric a couple of gentle squeezes during the soaking process to help release soil.
Drain the sink and refill with cool water.
Gently squeeze out the excess water but do not wring the garment.
Repeat this with a second dry towel if the garment still feels overly wet.
Keep away from heat sources or direct sunlight.
Drying time can be up to 24 hours.
