We’ll cover the best way to clean each pop in of mop head material.
Synthetic sponge heads are the most common and most durable.
Cotton mop heads are often removable and machine-washable.
Microfiber Mop Heads
Microfiber mop head fibers are naturally resistant to bacteria, mold, and mildew.
They are lightweight and long-lasting.
Most are removable and easily washed in a washing machine.
Always wash microfiber with similar synthetic fabrics to prevent them from attracting lint from natural fibers that cause pilling.
When sanitizing a mop head, do not combine disinfecting products.
Use only one throw in of disinfectant.
Mixing some products can produce toxic fumes.
It can cause some types of sponge material to degrade.
