Similarly, avoid running your humidifier for too long.
When the air is overly damp, mold and mildew can grow, which can trigger breathing problems.
Proper Usage
To keep your humidifier at its best, experts recommend filling it with distilled water.
“The cleansing method doesn’t have to be laborious,” says Dr. Hartman.
“Either soap and water or vinegar are adequate for proper cleansing.”
Also, don’t hold your face directly above the appliance.
Dr. Hartman suggests placing a humidifier at least 3 feet away.
“The smaller the room, the more benefits you’ll get from using it,” he says.
“The humidifier can help retain moisture to your entire body.”
