One of the most important spaces in our homes is the bedroom.

After all, we spend at least eight hours every day there (hopefully).

However, this is also one of those rooms where we tend to makedesign mistakes.

This can lead to a space thats not only unaesthetic but also potentially uncomfortable.

The Bed Is in a Corner

Get your bed away from the wall.

Placing your bed in a corner throws off the entire flow of the room.

After all, its nice to have a warm, comfy spot to watch your favorite shows or movies.

According to interior designerBrady Tolbert, there are several ways to make televisions more aesthetically pleasing.

I know it’s controversial, but we are pro-television in our bedroom.

But, that doesn’t mean I want to see it, he explains.

I always vote to have the TV disappear as much as possible.

If you cant find a freestanding nightstand that works, consider a floating nightstand instead.

Always use diffused lighting on your nightstands.

So mix it up.

Use lamps on nightstands and sconces on the walls, along with built-in lights.
